Those fields were already named after the holy Saint James. Opened in 1880 Saint James' Park is known as the oldest stadium in the North-East of the country. The main rebuilding was done for the 1996 European Championships. The Milburn Stand and the Sir John Hall Stand are higher than the other stands as the club didn't get permission to expand the other stands as well. |
