Before the war started there was only one club in Mostar, Velez. The city stadium called 'Pod Bijelim Brijegom' was the home ground of Velez for almost 30 years. After the war, from 1992, Velez is playing at an alternative stadium called 'Vrapcici' which is not much more than a training ground. The politic situation is blocking Velez's return to 'Bijeli Brijeg', so therefore the people of Velez now consider building a new stadium.
