Barca's Nou Camp stadium ('New Ground' in Catalan) is the biggest stadium in Europe. It's a Catalan monument, you could say it's the national stadium of Catalonia. In Franco's days this was the only place where people could speak Catalan (which was forbidden) and where they could show their flag. The Bernabeu is also among the biggest stadia in Europe.

Other : The stadium was opened in 1947 as Estadio Chamartin was renamed in 1955 to Santiago Bernabeu (1895-1978) who was a player, coach and president of Real Madrid CF. The stadium was under construction many times as it had to be at least as big as Barca's Camp Nou.
