Both fanbases represent the working class but in the communist days Gornik was the team of the miners (coal mines) and Ruch was the team of the steel-workers. The fans hate each other and the derbies can be quite a dangerous occasion. The nickname of Ruch is "Niebiescy" which means "The Blues".
